Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT)

Integral Eye Movement Therapy (IEMT) is an alternative complementary therapy, highly effective in releasing trauma and stuck emotions.  IEMT is a process that generates a rapid change in the area of undesired emotional and identity imprints.  The process can be ‘content-free’ so not always necessary to take the client back into the traumatic state which triggered the current feeling / intrusive imagery in the memory. 

IEMT is a tool used to help people struggling with trauma or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder.  The result of the treatment is often the imagery loses its emotional impact and becomes far less disturbing.

IEMT reduces the imprint of words or sounds which cause a negative or fear response.  For example, with the current heightened security alerts, the sound of a ‘sandwich board’ falling over in an airport terminal, may people respond with panic.  People automatically connecting the loud bang sound, triggering heightened fear.  The person may never be present when a criminal/terror situation has occurred, yet the fear and trauma have been imprinted by association, creating anxiety and fear for some, which may become disabling. 

Identity imprints can also be released with IEMT.  People begin by own ‘I am ….…’  Someone has told you that ‘you are….…’ and you may have then taken on the identity of what that person has told you, so you become ‘I am ….…’.  Or you may read something and decide that ‘I am …….’.  All of which, can lead someone to believe that they are ……. , even when they are not.  This can at times lead to strong emotions or beliefs which are unhelpful and dilapidating.

IEMT has been utilised with…

1.  Trauma, including by association. (having been told about the event)

2.  Fears, Phobias.

3.  PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder)

4.  Stuck emotions; anger, resentfulness, guilt, regret, remorse.

What to expect…

After an initial telephone consultation to check that you meet the criteria for this methodology, you will be invited for a 1-1 appointment.  A questionnaire will be completed, a discussion will take place between the client and the IEMT therapist.  Then the process will begin either standing or sitting down.  The appointment time will vary from client to client and may also be used alongside other modalities such as NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming), OldPain2Go®, Hypnosis.
